"What is urgent is the evangelization of a world that not only does not know the basic aspects of Christian dogma, but in great part has lost even the memory of the cultural elements of Christianity."

How to Create a CD from the Prayers that you Download

You may wish to PRINT this article to help you

  • Choose the prayer you wish to down and click on:

    Download this audio file

(Alternately, you can simply right-click this button and choose "Save target as...", if you experience any difficulty)

  • The following window will appear.

    Choose the button

  • The following window will appear: it is asking you WHERE you want to save it on your PC: (the "Save as type:" that appears may differ according to the audio programs installed on your PC: e.g. "Windows Media Player", etc.)

We suggest that you save it to your DESKTOP so that you can easily find what you have downloaded. To do this, change the "File name:" location to point to your DESKTOP:

For Windows VISTA users, the following will appear. You get to choose your DESKTOP as the location to save the file by clicking the scroll bar and by scrolling up, choosing your desktop.

Windows XP users, on the other hand, will see the following dialogue box: In this case, click on the little black downward arrow and from the list that appears, choose your DESKTOP.

  • The following window is what it should look like (this is the Vista screen shot):

  • Then simply click the SAVE button:

  • Once you have downloaded each file that you wish to save to your Desktop, simply close your browser window (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, etc.) and on your Desktop you will see all the files that you have downloaded. You will recognize them by their names, e.g., "1-signum-crucis-sign-of-the-cross.mp3"

NCH Swift Sound Home  http://www.nch.com.au/burn/burnsetup.exe is a FREE PROGRAM you can download to burn CDs if you do not have any of the programs listed below)

  • Open your CD BURNING PROGRAM (e.g. Nero, Roxio Easy CD Creator, etc.) and within that program select the files you want to burn (write) to the blank CD which you have placed in your CD drive. You will find the files (in this case the prayers) on your DESKTOP.

You can either select one at a time, or much better, hold down your Ctrl button on the bottom left of your keyboard and click on each file until they are all highlighted (only the files you want to burn ... if you mistakenly choose a wrong file, just click on it again and it will be de-selected, leaving the others still marked for burning) and choose (probably) "open" in the program you are using. The files will then be saved to a list in the program and all you have to do is then choose "burn" or "copy to CD", or something similar.

  • When the burning is finished, the CD drive will open automatically and eject your new disk. You can use a permanent marker (like "Sharpie") to write what the CD is on the top of the disk.

  • Most programs have a "Copy CD" function. This means that you can place the newly created CD in the CD drive and copy it to another blank CD.

  • Even if you have only (1) CD drive, this works, for the files are copied from the CD you made and kept in the PC's memory. The disk will be ejected after it is copied into memory and you will be prompted to insert a blank CD. The files in memory will be copied to the blank CD. Once it is finished, it, too, will be ejected.

  • YOU CAN MAKE MANY COPIES OF THE CD THIS WAY AND GIVE THEM TO ANYONE INTERESTED IN LEARNING THEIR CATHOLIC PRAYERS IN LATIN AND ENGLISH. JOIN OUR APOSTOLATE OF PRAYER BY DOING THIS.

  • IF EVERYONE COPIED JUST ONE CD AND GAVE IT TO ANOTHER ... WHO THEN COPIED IT IN TURN AND GAVE IT TO ANOTHER ... how many of the sons and daughters of Holy Mother Church would once again learn the beautiful language of their Mother!
